Edison PTA understands the wonders of field trips, which is why we are proud to provide (with your financial funds) transportation and expenses for each grade throughout the year. In addition to being so much fun, field trips offer many academic benefits to all of our students at Edison, including ...
Opportunities to develop the senses - visiting a farm or watching a play stimulates the senses in a way that will not be possible in the classroom alone. When one interacts within the environment of a museum or state park, it not only offers different sensory experiences, but a new understanding that our students can use in their class.
Variety of experiences - School field trips give our children a welcome break from their routine. Children wait and prepare for their field trips days or weeks in advance. They then spend the day in an educational setting and can also complete more lessons after the field trip is over. Learning in various ways attracts different learning styles, helping our children achieve success, whether they are students with visual, auditory, or kinesthetic forces.
New experiences - Children discover different careers, ideas and opportunities when they travel outside of their own neighborhoods. School trips awaken the desire to take risks and try something new, and pursue previously thoughtless dreams. Outings can introduce our children to new interests and passions. Whether it is their first or tenth field trip, new experiences always happen, motivating our children to take risks and foster friendships with their peers.
Better Academic Achievement - Field trips can result in higher grades in all academic areas of study. When students see how they can apply their classroom studies to daily life, they will have a better understanding and appreciation of its importance.
